1. I begin this section of my porfolio with a look at where I was before the BP courses. Click on the link below to view my back to school night presentation. I take pictures of the students during the first weeks of school and use them instead of clipart. (I did that before taking any of these courses...) Because the file was so large, I had to delete all of the photos. This was how I used technology in the classroom.

2. Now I'd like to share one of the first Web 2.0 technologies that I used with my students. I began my foray into technology by making a short screencast tutorial to help my students turn on a very important function for our statistics class. I now have this posted on my Moodle main section so they can access it at any time. I plan to require this or some other presentation technology (other than PowerPoint) for their final projects this year.

3. Another favorite of mine is animoto.com. Last year, I had the students use this to make "flash cards" for the final exam review. Here is one of the students' projects. I include this because I find it very beneficial for students to teach students. Both parties get so much more out of it than they do from me (sad to say).

4. Next, I include a link to my delicious.com bookmarks. This site has been instrumental in reducing the stress of using technology in three different classrooms. I have many applets that I have found throughout the years that help me "show" the students what is actually going on with the data. Last year was very stressful remembering which computer it was saved on, what the site was called, and when I was going to use it. Now I have them all tagged on delicious.com and can access them from anywhere. When my students do research, I can search by the tags and post a link to just those bookmarks to help them find good resources.

5. My crowning achievement to this point would be the Moodle portion of my AP Stat classes. I have included an image of one of the journal assignments and my feedback. It's not much to look at but has accomplished so much for the students. They get one-to-one attention on their work. Throught the resubmit until it is right process they really gain an understanding of what is expected in their responses on AP exam free response questions.
